Under a lamp, the rear of the Blue Shadow Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Gold Accents is unmistakably navy; carry it into the evening and the blue closes almost to black. Underneath is a factory-new, unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, to which our Dubai atelier gives that colourway together with a plated ring at each of the three camera lenses, 5–7 microns of 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum. Navy proves a forgiving ground for precious metal. What We Do Not Touch

A Fold That Stays Samsung’s

Blue Shadow is a name from our studio and not from Samsung’s catalogue, which lists Green Shadow, Violet Shadow, Graphite and Cream. Our contribution is the colour itself plus the three plated rings; everything structural stays put. The frame and hinge are not plated at any point, so the halves close on the tolerances built into them, and both displays, 8.0 inches inside and 6.5 on the cover, are left alone, as are the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, the 200MP camera and the battery.

Practical consequences are few. Samsung’s software, Galaxy AI, 5G and eSIM behave as documented, and with no metal panel covering the rear, wireless charging and Samsung Wallet tap-to-pay are expected to work in the usual way.
