Luxury Gold Sennheiser EW-D 835-S: Wireless and Gilded
A cable keeps a performer in one place; this set lets the voice move with them. The Luxury Gold Sennheiser EW-D 835-S is Sennheiser’s current digital wireless microphone system with its handheld transmitter plated at our Dubai atelier in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum and polished to a mirror. You will find it with our gold microphones, where each metal carries the same price.
In the set are the EW-D SKM-S handheld, fitted with the MMD 835 capsule and a mute switch, and the EW-D EM receiver. The MMD 835 is a cardioid dynamic capsule voiced for vocals, and Sennheiser quotes 134 dB of dynamic range and 1.9 ms of system latency for the link. Setup runs through the Smart Assist app over Bluetooth Low Energy, with an automatic frequency scan.
A Plated Transmitter, an Untouched Receiver
Our work is confined to the part you hold. The metal body and grille of the handheld are plated at 5–7 microns and mirror-finished. The photographs show 24K Gold; Rose Gold and Platinum are offered at no difference in price. The photographs show the atelier’s plating on an earlier Sennheiser handheld, so small details differ: the EW-D SKM-S has no display window and reports its status through Sennheiser’s LINK and DATA lights. The black antenna cap at the base stays as Sennheiser made it, and the mute switch works just as it always has.
Everything that makes the system perform is left alone: the capsule, the transmitter electronics and the EW-D EM receiver, which is not shown in the images. The handheld runs on two AA batteries or Sennheiser’s BA 70 rechargeable pack, and the receiver connects to your mixer like any other EW-D receiver. Sennheiser builds the set in frequency ranges to suit different countries, so tell your consultant where it will be used. It carries no water rating; keep both units away from liquids.

Wipe the handheld with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth and never reach for abrasive or chemical cleaners. To sanitise the grille, run the cloth over it gently rather than soaking it. Which part of the set is plated?
Only the handheld transmitter: its metal body and grille, in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum at 5–7 microns, polished to a mirror. The receiver stays entirely as Sennheiser supplies it.
Is the antenna cap plated as well?
No. It keeps Sennheiser’s black finish, which gives the gold a crisp end at the base of the handheld, and the mute switch keeps its original function.
What arrives in the box?

How should the plating be cleaned?
