Set between the compact mini and the flagship Pro, iPad Air is Apple’s balanced full-size tablet: a generous screen in a case just 6.1 mm thin. The 24K Gold Apple iPad Air keeps that design and gives its exterior a plated finish in 24K Gold, in Rose Gold or in Platinum, as part of our gold iPad collection.
Apple builds it around the M4 chip, pairing an 8-core CPU with a 9-core GPU, and a Liquid Retina display offered at 11 inches (500 nits) or 13 inches (600 nits). Touch ID is built into the top button. We supply every Air with cellular alongside Wi-Fi: Apple’s C1X modem brings 5G on eSIM, while the N1 chip handles Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. A Plated Shell Around Apple’s Engineering
Plating is reserved for the outside: the back and sides of the aluminium enclosure are coated at 5–7 microns, and the same metal rings the single rear camera. Apple’s logo and “iPad” lettering can still be read, the GoldPrivé mark rests near the lower edge, and the front glass and camera lens are never covered. Beneath that shell the engineering is Apple’s alone: we leave the M4 chip, screen, battery, cameras, speakers and software as they are, iPadOS updates keep arriving and Apple Intelligence is supported. Metal brings one consideration. A plated case can slightly influence wireless performance, whether cellular and Wi-Fi reception or the magnetic link that pairs and charges Apple Pencil on the edge; if you depend heavily on any of these, tell your consultant before your commission is confirmed.

What exactly is plated on the iPad Air?
The aluminium back and sides of the enclosure, at 5–7 microns, together with the ring that frames its lone rear camera. The lens and the front glass remain unplated.
Does the plating alter the M4 chip or the software?
Not in any way. Chip and display, cameras and speakers, battery and software all remain Apple’s, and iPadOS updates as usual, Apple Intelligence included.
Which sizes and storage can I choose?
