The click of the lid, the rasp of the flint wheel, a flame that holds in a breeze: that is what makes a Zippo so familiar. The Ignis Gold Zippo Lighter starts life as a genuine windproof Zippo, and our Dubai atelier changes only its outer case and lid, plating them in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum at one shared price. It belongs to our gold lighters.
Everything that makes it work stays as Zippo built it: the chimney that shields the wick, the wick itself and the flint wheel that sparks it. That insert keeps its original silver finish, a crisp contrast when the lid swings open.
What Changes, and What Stays Zippo
The case and lid carry 5–7 microns of precious metal, polished to a mirror. Inside, nothing is altered. Like every windproof lighter Zippo sends out, the Ignis travels empty, so before its maiden light you fill it with genuine Zippo lighter fuel. When a flint or wick wears down, either one can be replaced, which keeps the lighter in working order.
Our photographs show 24K Gold, engraved with sample text. Rose Gold gives the case a warmer, rosier tone, and Platinum a cool white brilliance that sits close to the silver of the insert. The price is identical across all three.
The Ignis in Detail
For filling and upkeep of the insert, Zippo’s own site is the reference. The Ignis adds only the plated case and your engraving.
Fill the lighter away from any flame, never overfill it, and wipe spilt fuel from the case at once, since fuel left on the metal can dull the polish. Otherwise a soft, dry, lint-free cloth is enough; keep abrasive and chemical cleaners, perfume, hand cream and moisture away from the plating, and keep the lighter out of reach of children. Two flat faces, the lid and the front of the case, give room for engraving: initials, a name, a date, a short message or an approved company logo. If you would rather keep it private, the inside of the lid can carry it instead.
