The 24K Gold Racing Bike, Built to Work
A gold bicycle is easy to fake and hard to build. The 24K Gold Racing Bike is the second kind: a genuine road bike stripped to its parts, finished individually in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, then reassembled as a working machine. The Velocity edition keeps its function on purpose. Gears shift, disc brakes bite, wheels run true. Almost nobody rides one — a machine finished to this level lives in a hall, a lobby or a private collection — but GoldPrivé builds it as a bicycle first and an object second, because the alternative is a sculpture pretending to be one.
Finishing a Chain, Link by Link
Any workshop can finish a frame. The test is the drivetrain: a cassette, a chainring and a chain whose every link still has to articulate afterwards. Getting precious metal onto those surfaces without it breaking up in use is slow, and it is what separates this commission from a painted one.
The dark parts are a decision, not an omission. Saddle, tyres, levers, derailleurs and rotors stay as they are, because they are the components that grip, flex and wear. Against them the gold reads as metal rather than as colour. Rose Gold warms the machine; Platinum turns it white. Names, crests and dates can be set into the frame at commission.
The Velocity Edition in Detail
A complete, functioning bicycle, finished and delivered on the understanding that it will be displayed.
Keep it dry, indoors and out of direct sunlight. A dry microfibre cloth is all the finish needs, and no polish or solvent should ever touch it. Should one be ridden, its drivetrain is serviced like any other.
Commissioning the Velocity
Each Velocity is produced to order. Finish, saddle, bar wrap and any stone or engraving detail are settled before the build begins; the finished machine is then crated, insured and shipped worldwide with a Certificate of Authenticity you can confirm on our verification page, backed by GoldPrivé Care.

Is the Velocity a working bicycle?
Yes. It is delivered complete, with functioning gears and disc brakes. It is finished, however, in the expectation that it will be displayed rather than ridden.
Is the chain finished as well?
It is. Chain, cassette, chainrings and cranks are all carried across, which is the step most gold bicycles leave out.
Which parts stay black?
The saddle, tyres, brake and shift levers, derailleurs, rotors and cable housing.
Do the three finishes cost the same?
