Luxury Gold Shure SM58: A Familiar Shape in Precious Metal
Few microphone silhouettes are as instantly recognised as this one. The Luxury Gold Shure SM58 keeps every line Shure drew and changes only the surface: the die-cast body and the round steel-mesh grille are plated at our Dubai atelier in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, then polished until they reflect the room. It sits among our gold microphones, and the three metals share a single price.
The sound is Shure’s alone. The SM58 is a dynamic vocal microphone with a cardioid pickup, so it favours the voice directly in front and turns down much of what happens behind it. A built-in pop filter tames hard consonants, and a pneumatic shock mount inside the handle keeps grip noise low. We alter none of this; the precious metal lives purely on the outside.
Two Surfaces, One Mirror Polish
The finish covers two parts. The die-cast body is plated along its full taper, from the collar beneath the grille to the connector end, and the spherical steel-mesh grille is plated too, its centre band included. Both receive 5–7 microns of metal before a mirror polish. Our photographs show 24K Gold; Rose Gold brings a gentler, blush-toned warmth under stage lights, while Platinum gives a cool white brilliance that is brighter than steel.
Everything that shapes the sound stays exactly as it left Shure: cartridge, pneumatic shock mount, pop filter, wiring and the three-pin XLR connector. It plugs into any mixer, interface or amplifier that takes an ordinary XLR lead, needs no power of its own and sounds identical to an unplated SM58. There is no water rating, so keep drinks and other liquids well clear of the grille.
The SM58 as Shure Specifies It
Each figure above is Shure’s own, published for the standard SM58 on shure.com. Plating the handle and grille leaves every one of them unchanged.
Keeping the mirror bright takes very little. Wipe the body with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth and never use abrasive or chemical cleaners. To sanitise the grille after a performance, pass the same cloth over it gently; do not soak it. Perfume and hand cream should not reach the metal, and the zippered bag is the right place for the microphone when it is off the stand. Anything more is handled by GoldPrivé Care.
An Engraved Luxury Gold Shure SM58
That long, smooth handle is a natural canvas. A name, initials, a short message or a logo can be engraved into the plated body, subject to feasibility. Which parts are plated?
The die-cast body and the spherical steel-mesh grille, in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum at 5–7 microns, each polished to a mirror. Nothing inside the microphone is plated or altered.
Does it keep the look of a standard SM58?
Yes. The ball grille with its centre band, the tapered handle and the Shure name on the collar all remain; only the surface becomes precious metal. It still fits the supplied A25D stand adapter.
What comes in the box?
Shure’s A25D stand adapter and zippered storage bag, a GoldPrivé presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes: a name, initials, a short message or a logo on the plated body, subject to feasibility. Share the idea through our customisation form; your consultant agrees the design and quote before any work starts.
Will it sound or connect any differently?
No. Cartridge, shock mount, pop filter, wiring and XLR connector are Shure’s originals, so it works with any mixer or interface that accepts an XLR cable and sounds like every other SM58. It has no water rating; keep it away from liquids.

How should I clean it?
Only with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, never an abrasive or chemical cleaner. Wipe the grille gently rather than soaking it, keep perfume and hand cream off the metal and store it in the zippered bag. GoldPrivé Care is there for anything else.
