A Black That Stays Matte

Where a glossy black shows every fingerprint, the satin anodised surface of Eclipse keeps a soft, even tone. The colour is built into the aluminium surface itself; the lens rings, buttons and logo detail are then plated at 5–7 microns and refitted by hand.

Nothing metallic is laid across the back, so MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W, Face ID and every camera work exactly as Apple designed them.

How is Eclipse different from the Timeless Black edition?

Timeless Black keeps Apple’s own Black finish. Eclipse has a deeper satin black anodised finish of our own; the plated details are the same.

What is plated on the Eclipse Gold iPhone 18 Pro Max?

Does wireless charging still work?

Yes. The back is coloured rather than plated, so MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W are unaffected.

Will the black finish show fingerprints?
