The Carbon Gold iPhone 18 Pro Max borrows its look from the paddock. A single sheet of woven carbon fibre covers the rear, its diagonal weave shifting from matte black to charcoal as light moves across it, and a plated border in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum surrounds it.
With precious metal limited to the frame, the border and the camera plateau, it is the lowest-key statement in our Carbon Craft collection.
Carbon on the Back, Apple Underneath
The weave is bonded into a new rear section and trimmed flush with its plated surround, while the aluminium frame is plated to match. Nothing inside the iPhone is disturbed.
There is a practical consequence: the carbon is backed by plated metal, which stops MagSafe and Qi2 from reaching the battery. Charging happens over USB‑C instead.
Under the Weave, Apple’s Numbers
Carbon changes the grip and the look, not the hardware. Apple publishes these figures for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in its tech specs.
Read the wireless charging row as unavailable here, because a plated backing sits behind the weave. A customised phone is not water resistant.
