Reduce the family to its material and you arrive at the Carbon Gold iPhone Air. Woven carbon fibre spreads over almost the entire back, broken only by a plated Apple logo resting on the weave, a polished plated camera plateau and a small nameplate at the base. We begin with a brand-new, unlocked Apple iPhone Air, and what emerges is the purest design in the Carbon Craft collection.

With ornament pared back, the material carries the piece. The twill runs in fine diagonals and soaks up light, a texture familiar from the racing paddock, while precious metal on the logo, plateau and frame gleams against it. Apple engineered the Air to be just 5.64 mm thin, and this design answers that restraint in kind. The metal is plated at 5–7 microns in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum inside our Dubai atelier.

Our atelier swaps Apple’s rear panel for the carbon-clad one and plates the titanium frame, so the sides, buttons, logo and plateau all wear one metal. That is the full extent of the work. Screen, A19 Pro chip, camera system, battery and every internal part remain unopened.

You keep Face ID, the 48MP Fusion camera, eSIM, 5G, Apple Pay and routine iOS updates. What you give up is wireless charging: the carbon is laid over plated metal that shields the phone from MagSafe and Qi2, so the Carbon Gold iPhone Air takes power over USB‑C.
