Ledger Link Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: A Chain From Top to Toe

Think of a bracelet laid along the spine of a closed book and you have the idea behind the Ledger Link Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. The book in question is Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold8, its broadest folding shape yet, which arrives at our Dubai atelier unopened and unlocked. We swap its glass back for a new panel textured in fine hexagons, then fix a weighty curb-pattern chain along it, plated 5–7 microns deep in Rose Gold, Platinum or 24K Gold.

On the Fold8 the chain runs vertically, close to the right-hand edge, from just below the top of the back almost to the bottom. A pointed, shield-like cap holds it at each end. To its left the tall pill of the camera surround wears the same metal, and the GoldPrivé name is set sideways into the texture low on the opposite edge. Everything else is dark relief. Noir appears in the renders; Royale Blue, Verdant, Crimson Red and Rose Fuchsia are priced identically. The hinge and frame are never plated.

The Chain in Detail, the Phone Unaltered

Cropped in, each flattened curb link catches light on its own facet, so the chain shimmers as the phone turns while the hexagons behind it stay matt. Chain, caps, panel and camera surround are our entire contribution. Samsung’s Armor FlexHinge and Armor Aluminum frame are not plated, and the handset is never opened: the 7.6-inch and 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, the twin 50MP cameras and the 4,800mAh battery stay sealed.

Software continues exactly as on a stock Fold8, from Galaxy AI to 5G and eSIM, with security updates promised to 31 July 2033. Precious metal over the back does exclude two wireless features: pad charging and the NFC link Samsung Wallet uses to tap and pay. So Ledger Link takes its charge through the USB‑C cable, up to 25W wired, and payments are made with a card instead.

A Signature Beside the Chain

The broad open texture to the left of the chain is where lettering sits best, uncrowded by the links. A short name, initials or a date all fit comfortably. Describe yours on the customisation page and a consultant replies with the proposed layout for your approval before your panel is produced. The link style comes from the classic curb chain.

Every Ledger Link leaves Dubai in a GoldPrivé leather presentation box with a gift bag. Samsung’s original paperwork, a USB‑C cable and a 20W power adapter travel with it, alongside a certificate of authenticity you can check on the GoldPrivé verification page. The adapter comes with every phone we supply; a phone you send us for customisation is returned without one.

Before You Order Ledger Link

What is changed on the phone?

Only the back. A new hexagon-textured panel in your chosen colour replaces the glass, the chain and its end caps are plated 5 to 7 microns deep, and the camera surround is finished to match. Hinge, frame, screens and internals remain Samsung’s.

Is the base a real Samsung?

Always. Every Ledger Link Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 starts life as a new, unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8 bought for the commission and customised by hand in Dubai.

Will it charge wirelessly or pay by tap?

No. The plated back interrupts both wireless charging and the NFC that Samsung Wallet tap-to-pay depends on, so you charge via the USB‑C cable and pay using a card or another device.

What about rain or splashes?

Avoid them. IP48 describes the phone only as Samsung ships it; once customised, it must be treated as not protected against water.

What storage options and prices are there?

What does the warranty cover?

It can. Send in your Galaxy Z Fold8 and pay for the customisation only; you take care of shipping and customs on the way in and back.

How does Ledger Link differ from the Genesis designs?
