A dark suit needs only one bright detail. The Luxury Gold AirPods Max 2 Midnight works on that principle: Apple’s near-black Midnight on the canopy, mesh and cushions, and precious metal confined to the ear cups and arms. Choose Rose Gold, 24K Gold or Platinum for that metal; each costs the same. The design belongs to our gold AirPods Max 2 family and is the colourway for anyone who prefers to be noticed slowly.
Nothing inside is modified. You receive Apple’s AirPods Max 2 complete, with H2 chips in both cups, a driver and amplifier Apple designed, Personalised Spatial Audio and up to 20 hours of listening with noise cancellation on. Five minutes on the cable adds roughly an hour and a half, which is useful before a long flight.
Where the Gold Stops and Midnight Begins
Precision matters on a dark colourway, because every edge of metal shows. We plate four components only, the aluminium ear cups, the stainless steel arms joining them to the headband, the Digital Crown and the listening mode button, at 5–7 microns, and polish each to a mirror. Our emblem is placed on the outward side of one cup. The pair is taken apart for the work, its drivers and mesh protected, then reassembled and tested; no chip, driver or other electronic part is modified. Apple’s Midnight covers the rest: canopy, mesh, cushions. The images show 24K Gold; in Platinum the look turns cooler still, and Rose Gold adds a faint warmth, all in one design at one price.
Apple’s engineering is left as it was. H2 chips, drivers, noise cancellation, Transparency, microphones, sensors and battery are all original, the plated Crown and button behave exactly as Apple made them, and firmware updates come through normally. Because metal now surrounds the cups, Bluetooth range may be a little shorter; if you rely on distance, say so to your consultant beforehand.

Keep the finish immaculate with a lint-free cloth, soft and dry, and no cleaning chemicals of any kind. Perfume and hand cream should not reach the metal. No. Apple’s chips, drivers, noise control, Spatial Audio, microphones, sensors and battery are unmodified, and the pair works with iPhone, iPad and Mac as well as Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro on current software. The one caveat is Bluetooth range, which the plated cups can shorten slightly; ask your consultant if that is critical.

How do I keep the plating looking new?
