The atelier coats Apple’s aluminium ear cups, the stainless steel headband arms, the Digital Crown and the listening mode button at 5–7 microns, polishes them to a mirror and places the GoldPrivé emblem on the outside of a cup. To do so, we disassemble each pair, protect its drivers and mesh, then reassemble and test it; chips, drivers and electronics are left unmodified. Every fabric surface remains Apple’s Starlight, so the ivory tone is precisely what Apple intended. The photographs show 24K Gold; choose Rose Gold for a blush against the cream, or Platinum for a paler, silvery pairing, all at a single price.
The working heart of the headphones stays Apple’s: H2 chips, drivers, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency, microphones, sensors and battery, while the plated Digital Crown and listening mode button work exactly as Apple made them. Updates from Apple install normally. Wireless range deserves a brief mention, since the plated cups can slightly limit Bluetooth; if that could matter to you, your consultant will advise.
