We work on four parts. The aluminium ear cups, the stainless steel headband arms, the Digital Crown and the listening mode button are plated to 5–7 microns and polished until they reflect like a mirror, and the GoldPrivé emblem goes on the outer side of one cup. Each pair is taken apart for this, its drivers and mesh protected, then reassembled and tested; no chip, driver or electronic component is modified. Canopy, mesh and cushions? Apple’s Orange, unchanged. In the photographs the metal is 24K Gold. Rose Gold makes the peach tones even warmer, while Platinum cools them; design and price stay the same.
Every functional part is still Apple’s. The H2 chips, drivers, noise cancellation, Transparency, microphones, sensors and battery work as designed, the plated Digital Crown and listening mode button respond exactly as Apple made them, and new firmware installs as usual. A plated cup can slightly reduce Bluetooth range; if reach matters, your consultant is happy to discuss it.

Bright metal stays bright with very little effort: a soft cloth, dry and free of lint, and no chemical cleaners. How do I clean the plated cups?
