Prestige Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: Metal and Nothing Else

Some commissions are about ornament; the Prestige Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is about the metal itself. We start from a factory-new, unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung’s new and wider book-style foldable, and fit a fresh back panel plated 5–7 microns deep in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, finishing the tall pill-shaped camera island to match. It is the quietest piece among our Ultimate Z Fold8 designs.

Turn the phone over and there is very little to report, which is precisely the idea. The two lenses stand one above the other in their polished island at the upper left, the metal is named in small capitals low on the panel above a GoldPrivé mark, and everything else is an unbroken mirror that borrows the colours of the room around it. Because this Fold8 is shorter and broader than earlier book foldables, that mirror reads almost like a page of gold. Frame and hinge keep Samsung’s own finish, and each metal is priced the same.

What Stays Exactly as Samsung Built It

Our part of the job ends at the rear panel and the camera island. Plating never reaches the Armor Aluminum frame or the hinge, so the phone folds on Samsung’s own tolerances, and we never open the 7.6-inch main screen, the 5.5-inch cover screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, the 50MP wide and 50MP ultra wide cameras or the 4,800mAh battery. Galaxy AI, 5G and Samsung’s security updates, promised until 31 July 2033, carry on as they would on a stock handset.

A solid metal rear does alter two habits. It stops the wireless charging field and the NFC signal Samsung Wallet relies on for tap-to-pay, so the Prestige Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 takes its power through the USB‑C port, and contactless payments move to a card or another device.

Read the charging row with one correction: once the plated panel is fitted, power arrives by USB‑C cable only and Samsung Wallet tap-to-pay is unavailable. IP48 is Samsung’s rating for the phone as it ships, not for a customised one, so keep this piece dry. Everyday handling is covered in our gold-finish care guide.

Making the Prestige Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Your Own

An empty mirror is the easiest surface in the range to personalise. Initials, a full name, a date or a company crest can be cut into the open metal between the lenses and the GoldPrivé mark; describe what you want on our personalisation page and a consultant agrees size and position with you before production begins.

The finished phone travels in a GoldPrivé leather presentation box with a gift bag, together with Samsung’s original documentation, a USB‑C cable, a 20W power adapter and a numbered authenticity certificate you can look up on our verification page. Still deciding between our two foldable sizes? The Z Fold8 comparison guide lays them out side by side. The adapter comes with every phone we supply; a phone you send us for customisation is returned without one.

Your Questions About Prestige

What exactly does GoldPrivé change on this phone?

Two things only: a new back panel, plated 5 to 7 microns thick in the metal you pick, and the camera island around the two lenses, finished to match. The frame, the hinge, both screens and all the electronics stay exactly as Samsung assembled them.

Is it a genuine Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8?

Yes. Every Prestige begins as a factory-new, unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8 and is customised by hand in our Dubai atelier. If you already own one, you can send it to us and pay for the customisation alone; shipping and customs in both directions are then yours to arrange.

Can the Prestige Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 charge wirelessly or pay by tap?

No. A solid metal back blocks the wireless charging field as well as the NFC signal Samsung Wallet uses, so charge it with the USB‑C cable and pay with a card or a second device.

Which storage options are offered?

Three: 256GB or 512GB, each with 12GB of RAM, and 1TB with 16GB.

How much does it cost?

From $ 4,090 at 256GB up to $ 4,790 at 1TB. Storage sets the price; your choice of metal does not.

What warranty comes with it, and can it get wet?

Bought from us, the phone carries a 1-year warranty on the device plus a 2-year warranty on our customisation under GoldPrivé Care. Treat it as having no protection against water: IP48 describes only the unmodified phone.

Is there a version with a larger screen?

There is. Prefer the bigger display? See the Fold8 Ultra edition of Prestige, built on Samsung’s larger foldable.

How does Prestige compare with its sibling designs?

Prestige is the bare one. Sovereign Link lays a curb chain down the edge of the same mirror panel, Obelisk covers the rear in tiny pyramids, Sovereign adds a leaping jaguar on a pale chevron, and Botanica fills it with raised roses. All five sit in the Ultimate Z Fold8 category.
