The Origin Line

Genesis Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: A Single Gesture

One line, drawn once and drawn well: that is the whole proposition of the Genesis Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, the design from which the rest of its family grew. We begin with a factory-new, unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung’s wider, book-style foldable, and in our Dubai atelier replace its glass back with a new panel embossed in dark interlocking hexagons. A single bar crosses it, plated 5–7 microns deep in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum.

On the Fold8’s broad, passport-like back the bar has room to stretch almost edge to edge, sweeping into a soft downward curve with small screw-head accents at each end and at its lowest point. It sits a little below the tall camera surround, plated in the same metal, so the eye travels from lenses to line to the plated GoldPrivé nameplate at the base. The renders show Noir; Verdant, Crimson Red, Royale Blue and Rose Fuchsia are offered too, at no extra cost. Hinge and frame stay unplated.

Less Metal, Same Phone

A Quiet Back on a Fully Original Foldable

In the close crop, the curve reads like a smile in metal, mirror-bright against hexagons that absorb the light around it. Bar, nameplate, panel and camera surround are everything we add. The Armor FlexHinge and the Armor Aluminum frame are left alone, and the phone is never opened, so Samsung’s 7.6-inch main and 5.5-inch cover screens, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, the 50MP wide and 50MP ultra wide cameras and the 4,800mAh battery are untouched.

Software is equally original: Galaxy AI, 5G and eSIM all run as normal, with Samsung security updates scheduled until 31 July 2033. What the plated back rules out is anything that has to pass through it wirelessly. Charging pads will not work, and nor will Samsung Wallet’s NFC tap-to-pay, so Genesis tops up over its USB‑C cable at up to 25W and you pay by card or with another device.

One adjustment for this model: wireless charging is unavailable, so charging happens by cable. Samsung’s IP48 rating belongs to the unmodified phone, and a customised Genesis should be treated as having no water protection at all. Our gold-finish care guide covers polishing the bar safely.

Engraving the Genesis Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8

A name set along the bar follows its curve and becomes part of the drawing rather than an addition to it. Initials on the open hexagon field below are another option. Start through our engraving and personalisation page; a consultant agrees the text, its size and its placing with you before work starts.

The phone is presented in a GoldPrivé leather box and gift bag, accompanied by Samsung’s documentation, a USB‑C cable, a 20W power adapter and a certificate of authenticity you can verify on our verification page. New to the Z Fold8 range? Our comparison of Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra is a good place to start. The adapter comes with every phone we supply; a phone you send us for customisation is returned without one.

Genesis Explained

Your Genesis Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Questions

What does the customisation involve?

Samsung’s glass back is replaced with a new hexagon-relief panel in your colour. The single bar and the nameplate carry 5 to 7 microns of precious metal, as does the camera surround. The frame, the hinge, both screens and every internal component are left as Samsung supplied them.

Is the Galaxy Z Fold8 inside new and genuine?

Yes. It is bought factory-new and unlocked and then finished by hand in Dubai, so the cameras, Galaxy AI and Samsung updates work just as they would on a standard handset.

Is wireless charging or tap-to-pay possible?

Not on this design. The plated back of the Genesis Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 blocks wireless charging and the NFC behind Samsung Wallet payments. Charge with USB‑C; pay with a card or a second device.

Is it safe around water?

Keep it dry. IP48 is the rating Samsung gives the untouched phone; a customised one should be treated as having no protection against water.

Which configurations are available, and how much?

256GB and 512GB with 12GB of RAM, or 1TB with 16GB. Prices start at $ 4,590 and reach $ 5,290; only storage changes them, never the colour or the metal.

How is my purchase protected?

A phone bought from GoldPrivé includes a 1-year device warranty and a 2-year warranty on the customisation, provided by GoldPrivé Care.

Could I supply my own phone?

Yes, send us your Galaxy Z Fold8 and pay for the Genesis customisation only. Shipping and customs, outbound and return, are covered by you.

How do the other Genesis designs compare?

They add bars: Genesis II has two and Genesis III four. Ledger Link keeps the hexagon back but trades bars for a curb chain. All are in the Premium Anodised Z Fold8 range.
