The Artisan Gold TaylorMade P790 Iron is a working club before it is anything else: a new TaylorMade P790 4-iron, from the generation current when you order, plated in our Dubai atelier in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, the three priced alike. It sits in our gold golf collection.

TaylorMade calls the P790 a players’ distance iron: a hollow head filled with SpeedFoam Air behind a forged face, with tungsten set low in long irons like this one. That engineering stays inside, untouched; the atelier works only on what you can see.

Plated Head, Grooves and Shaft; Black Grip and Ferrule

Nothing on the head escapes the plating: the face and every groove cut across it, the sole, the topline and the badged back all carry 5–7 microns of metal, and the shaft is finished the same way before a final mirror polish. TaylorMade’s grip and the small ferrule where shaft meets hosel stay exactly as supplied, in black.

Rose Gold lends the iron a pinker glow and Platinum a silvery-white one; the price matches 24K Gold. Our images are renders in 24K Gold with GOLDPRIVE engraved on the head, the last showing the club in its black presentation case.

Wipe the iron with a soft, dry cloth without lint after every outing, and dry it thoroughly if the course was wet. Chemical and abrasive cleaners harm the plating, as do hand cream, sunscreen and perfume, so keep them well away. GoldPrivé Care can help with anything more.

Are the face and grooves plated?

Yes. Plating covers the entire head, face and grooves included, and the shaft. TaylorMade’s grip and ferrule remain black.

Is there a surcharge for Rose Gold or Platinum?

None. All three metals are priced the same, so choose purely on colour.

How is the iron presented?

In a black presentation case whose lid has a clear window, with a GoldPrivé Certificate of Authenticity.

Can a company or club logo go on the head?

Yes, an approved logo can, space permitting, as can names, initials or a date. Your consultant agrees design and price via our customisation form before work starts.

Does it still play like a standard P790?

Loft, lie, length and construction are exactly as TaylorMade made them, so the swing is unaffected. Hitting balls will, though, wear the plated face and sole over time, as with any plated finish, so many owners keep the Artisan for display.

What is the right way to clean it?
