Jetblack Gold Apple Watch Series 12: Metal Against Pure Black
The Jetblack Gold Apple Watch Series 12 strips the palette back to two elements: a precious-metal case and a band in the deepest black. We take a factory-new aluminium Apple Watch Series 12, plate it by hand in our Dubai atelier in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, and fit it to Apple’s own black Ocean Band. It is the most understated piece in our gold Apple Watch Series 12 collection, and very possibly the most versatile.
Apple makes the Ocean Band from a high-performance fluoroelastomer and gives it a ribbed, tubular shape, a technical, athletic look that black renders quieter still. With no colour competing for attention, the plated case becomes the one bright note on the wrist. Jetblack is for the client who goes from a morning training session to a boardroom to a late dinner without changing watches, and who would rather the metal be noticed at close range than across a room.
An Apple Band with a Plated Buckle
We plate the case, the Digital Crown and the side button. The band stays exactly as Apple produced it, black and unplated; only its buckle and its loop leave the atelier in your chosen metal, matching the case. Apple’s display, S11 chip, sensors and battery are never touched, and the sensor back keeps its Apple finish, so the magnetic fast charger attaches and charges as normal while health readings, workouts, sleep score and watchOS updates carry on as on any Series 12.
Putting it on takes seconds: feed the tail through the plated buckle, then slide the plated loop down to hold the spare end flat. The ribbed band has real give, and Apple says it stretches enough to go over a wetsuit, because the Ocean Band was conceived for water sports. Your customised Jetblack is not, and it should not be relied on for swimming, diving or surfing. Treat it as a land watch.

Apple rates an unmodified watch to 50 m, but after customisation that figure should not be relied upon, whatever the band was designed for. Jetblack Gold Apple Watch Series 12: Common Questions
Is the black band plated as well?
No. The Ocean Band is Apple’s and stays black. We plate its buckle and loop, together with the case, Digital Crown and side button, in 5–7 microns of 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum.
Is Jetblack built on an authentic Series 12?
Yes, every piece starts as a factory-new aluminium Apple Watch Series 12. Nothing inside is changed, so the S11 chip, the Always-On Retina display and the health sensors perform to Apple’s specification.
How do I charge it?
Exactly as you would any Series 12. The sensor back is left unplated, so the magnetic fast-charging cable in the box connects normally. Apple quotes up to 24 hours of battery, or 38 in Low Power Mode.
Is engraving possible on Jetblack?

Which case size does Jetblack use?
Jetblack is made only with the 46mm Series 12 case, in all three metals. The band adjusts at its buckle, so it fits from the moment it arrives.

Can I swim in it, and what about the warranty?
Please don’t. Apple built the Ocean Band for water sports, yet the customised watch’s 50 m rating should not be relied upon, so keep it clear of swimming, diving and showers. Apple may also treat it as modified, which can affect the manufacturer warranty; GoldPrivé Care covers our customised parts.
How is Jetblack different from Marine Blue and the others?
