The Blue Band Stays Apple's
Three parts of the watch are plated: the aluminium case, the Digital Crown and the side button, each carrying 5–7 microns of the metal you select. The navy band itself receives no plating and remains as Apple supplies it; our atelier finishes only its buckle and loop, so the metal at the fastening echoes the case. Inside, the display, S11 chip, sensors and battery are left alone, and the sensor back retains its original dark Apple finish.
With that back unaltered, Apple’s magnetic fast charger seats and charges just as on a standard watch, and blood oxygen, temperature sensing, sleep score and watchOS updates continue unchanged. To wear it, pass the end of the band through the plated buckle, pick the hole that feels right, then slide the plated loop over the tail. One honest caveat: Apple designed this band for water sports, but a customised watch is a different matter, and Marine Blue should not be relied on for swimming, diving or any time in the water.
